PC Bang Guide for Foreigners: Guest Access, Games & Payment

고구마 Reading Time 읽는 시간 약 9분

Paying for a PC bang seat and being able to play a particular game are two different things. Before buying time, check both: whether the venue can give you guest access and whether your own game account works there. This prevents spending the first part of a visit on a registration problem you cannot solve at the desk.

Ask about guest access first

Tell staff you are a visitor and ask about 비회원 (non-member) access. Confirm how to pay, how the time is recorded and which seat to use. Do not assume every venue offers the same guest process or that every registration system accepts an overseas phone number.

Seoul's official tourism newsletter describes T1 Base Camp as a PC bang-style space, with separate PC and food charges. That provides a Seoul venue example, not confirmation that its current guest registration or every game will work for your account.

Check the game before committing

A game being installed does not remove its account requirements. Regional servers, authentication and age-related conditions are set by the game publisher. Use the publisher's legitimate login or guest options. Do not borrow somebody else's identity or buy access to an account merely to get past registration.

If your goal is simply to experience the venue, explain that to staff and ask what you can use without creating a Korean game account. Ask about headset and keyboard availability or changing the interface language before settling in. Venue staff may help with equipment, but they cannot promise access to every overseas account.

Understand time and additional purchases

Check whether the price buys a fixed period, prepaid balance or another arrangement, and ask what happens when it runs out. Ask whether unused time is refundable before paying. Prices, membership discounts and seat types are venue-specific; a posted member offer may not apply to a guest.

Food orders can be a separate charge. Check how to order and pay, then keep food away from shared equipment according to the venue's rules. Respect noise limits and any restrictions on smoking or particular areas rather than assuming a gaming venue has no shared-space rules.

Protect accounts on a shared computer

Avoid using a public PC for banking or other sensitive tasks. For a gaming login, use only the legitimate service, avoid saving credentials and do not approve unexpected prompts. When leaving, sign out of the game launcher, browser and any other accounts you opened. Remove downloaded personal files and review active sessions from your own trusted device if needed.

If something does not work

  1. Check that you are at the assigned seat and understand the venue's login method.
  2. Ask staff to check hardware, time credit or the local connection.
  3. Distinguish that from a publisher account restriction; do not keep entering credentials into an unfamiliar screen.
  4. If the intended activity cannot run, ask about alternatives or the applicable refund rule before buying more time.

Phrases at reception

비회원으로 이용할 수 있나요? (Bihoewoneuro iyonghal su innayo?) — Can I use it as a non-member?

한 시간만 이용하고 싶어요. (Han siganman iyonghago sipeoyo.) — I would like to use it for one hour.

이 게임을 할 수 있나요? (I geimeul hal su innayo?) — Can I play this game?

Seoul example, nationwide checks

The venue example above is in Seoul. Guest registration, game access, payment and account-security checks apply elsewhere too; the availability of an English-speaking employee or a guest system must be confirmed with the actual venue.

Common questions

Does every PC bang require a Korean phone number?

Registration arrangements vary. Ask about a legitimate guest option before paying.

Does seat payment include a usable game account?

Do not assume so. Check the venue arrangement and the game publisher's requirements separately.
